Projects
You can say so much…
But actions speak louder than words… That’s why we would like to show you what we are capable of. And, let’s not beat around the bush, that’s no small feat. We’re more than happy to showcase examples from each of our areas of expertise, giving you a glimpse into the projects we have taken on together with our clients.
System Bridge
An excellent pontoon bridge, assembled using VSP pontoons. It’s a modular system that can be expanded both in length and width, complete with railings and access ramps.
Heavyweight
Having all the disciplines in-house is incredibly useful. This Broshuis low-loader combination from Van Schie, seen here at the yard, transports our heaviest machinery to construction sites all over the Netherlands.
There’s no limit to Padel
Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, combining elements of tennis and squash. However, the sport also causes a lot of disturbances.
Light art on the water
The Amsterdam Light Festival is a seven-week-long event that took place for the eleventh time last winter. It features a boat and walking route along twenty unique light art installations against the backdrop of our beautiful canals. In the world of light sculptures, this festival is unique as it entirely takes place on and along the water.
Soil remediation in Teylers Hofje
It is one of the most romantic spots in Haarlem: the Teylers Hofje, located at the edge of the center, along the Spaarne. Currently there are still twenty such hofjes in Haarlem, once founded for the benefit of the poor or for beguines of the church.
Weighty job
Lifting, pushing, lifting, but mostly rolling. Using this combination of techniques, a heavy-duty concrete weighbridge was installed inside a building where waste containers must be weighed.
Pontoons among greenery
The organizers of the Floriade Expo – the world horticultural exhibition in Almere – have also experienced how important pontoons can be on the border of land and water. And also how Van Schie has an innovative solution for every location and situation, based on years of experience at large event venues.
Drilling with casing
More and more buildings are getting their energy from geothermal energy, as an alternative to wind and solar power. As a rule, this is water pumped from the depths of our earth. The heat in that water can then be used for heating or generating electricity. It is a sustainable heat source that does not rely on solar or wind. And always available.
Regal introduction
This spring, the latest generation of the Range Rover Sport was introduced: a beautifully lined hybrid bolide. The official presentation for the entire Benelux was done with allure, a happening that took place in Belgium at an estate near Grimbergen, just a stone’s throw from Brussels.
Bridge over the Zaan
Just above Zaandam is the Zaan Bridge that connects Wormer and Wormerveer. This striking blue drawbridge is in need of replacement. A complex operation, since the Zaan is quite wide here and busy shipping traffic should be affected as little as possible. Therefore, before the old bridge is demolished, a temporary drawbridge will be built. A unique construction by Janson Bridging BV, part of the Van Schie Group.
City crane rises from ashes
For centuries, a city crane stood on the Oudegracht near the Winkel van Sinkel. More precisely, from 1402 to 1837. This hoist – constructed entirely of wood – was used to unload goods from ships in the shipyard or hoist them up to the street. Cargo usually consisted of crates, man-sized wine barrels, Cologne pots and pottery.
Seepage screen in the forest
With seepage water one does not immediately think of leafy forests in Brabant, but rather of wet Dutch polders where the water seeps under dikes and bubbles up along the meadows. In Ulvenhout – near Breda – they really think differently.
