Technique Three-day again a great success!

On Nov. 5, it was that time again: the doors opened and the first 300 students stormed in to start drilling, sawing, computing and much more.

Some 3,500 pupils from various elementary school in the region managed to find their way to the FN Kempen site on the Oosterlandweg in Mijdrecht. Especially for the Techniek Driedaagse, the main hall had once again been transformed into one big play palace. Admittedly a technical gaming palace.

Students were introduced to eight different industry groups: Robotics, Agri Technology, Automotive & Logistics, Construction, ICT, Installation Technology, Metal & Plastic and Recycling. From programming robots to bricklaying a wall, changing a car tire to reusing waste as raw material for a 3D printer, it all happened again this week at the Techniek Driedaagse.

The goal of the Engineering Three Days is to introduce students to the field of engineering at an early age. And that in many disciplines, because both the smartphone in your hand and the chair you sit on: everything has to do with technology.

More than 150 companies and hundreds of volunteers are committed to making the Technique Three Days possible. Van Schie also participated, of course, and represented the “Construction” industry group with a large number of fellow companies. Within that discipline, the youngsters were able to brick walls, practice on a mini-excavator, build a bridge and make a construction plan, among other things.

The Techniek Driedaagse is an initiative of Technet Amstel en Venen. More information can be found here.

Video impression!

Nice to see the thousands of students so engaged in engineering. Watch a video impression here and see how they experience it for themselves!
