Launch of a super pontoon
Whoever says pontoons, says Van Schie. Pontoons for infrastructure works, pontoon bridges, pontoons for events. Van Schie has them in many shapes and sizes. And everything modular. The possibilities of forming stable (working) islands with them are actually unlimited. But developments are not standing still.
The pontoon that was recently launched big at InfraTech under the name VSP770 offers numerous advantages, including a fixed coupling system. This eliminates the need to transport the couplings separately. They stay in the pontoon, right where they are needed. In addition, they can be coupled and uncoupled while standing. So our men no longer have to bend over or kneel. A big advantage is also the pontoon’s high deck load, plus smarter sizing. And that, in turn, makes for more efficient transportation.
The VSP770 is the answer to all demands for customization. All configurations are possible: in combination with a heavy crane, as a floating tool, as a pontoon bridge, etc. etc. The pontoon was tested under extreme conditions and then certified. It can be used throughout Europe, in accordance with EU Directive 2016/1629. In addition, Van Schie can perform the necessary strength and stability calculations for clients, with the main goal of making an event or infra work safely.
