To handle the storage and dispensing of the many types of pontoons quickly and efficiently, two new ultra-modern (double) overhead cranes have been built at our site in Mijdrecht, each with a capacity of 2 x 10 tons (per crane).
The entire installation replaced the old overhead crane, as the area under the old crane was too limited. The work area is now more than doubled and can be loaded and unloaded in two places simultaneously – independently of each other.
In addition, the pontoons can be stacked higher. The entire installation meets the latest (high) safety requirements including fall protection. The system is equipped with a so-called “man cage” where the responsible employee can board, travel with the pontoon to be lifted, dock at height and return to the next pontoon. All the while he is attached to a fused line.
