Sound barrier for Dokkum

This reduced the noise pollution for the residential area behind it to an acceptable level. The screen was festively inaugurated this summer, coupled with the unveiling of a work of art placed in front of the screen. The work of art made of steel is a tribute to the old railroad line that ran along this road, the so-called ‘Dockumer Lokaeltsje’, a little train that commuted between Dokkum and Leeuwarden.
