No one in our company could have suspected that the revolutionary VSP770 pontoon would become such a great success. We hoped for it, but never expected that around the turn of the year the 500th pontoon would arrive at the gate in Mijdrecht to loud cheers. In fact, the number is already approaching six hundred.

You don’t design such a high-quality product on a back afternoon. Partly due to new (stricter) legislation, a new pontoon was needed to replace the plate pontoon. From the outset, Van Schie wanted this to be a multi-purpose pontoon, part of a much larger plan. A link in a modular system with guardrails and ramps and with dimensions that had to fit seamlessly with Van Schie’s other products. And lo and behold: a unique pontoon, with a high deck load, great buoyancy and a flat non-slip floor. Equipped with an entirely new coupling system, quick to install, and sized so that the pontoons can be coupled both lengthwise and widthwise for even better stability. In short: a product with which we at Van Schie can continue for a long time to come.
